As Global Head of Private Markets & Thought Leadership, Ruth Yang is responsible for developing and expanding S&P Global Ratings’ coverage of private credit alongside the franchise’s market engagement in both public and private markets through thought leadership outreach.
As Global Head of Private Markets & Thought Leadership, Ruth Yang is responsible for developing and expanding S&P Global Ratings’ coverage of private credit alongside the franchise’s market engagement in both public and private markets through thought leadership outreach. She serves as the Chair of the cross-divisional S&P Global Private Debt Research Lab.
Previously, she led the company’s Credit Research & Insights research team, overseeing the creation and publication of macro-credit and thematic research, risk assessments, rating transition analyses, and credit market forecasts while governing the Credit Conditions Committee (CCC) process. Ruth has more than 25 years of experience in the leveraged finance markets—including with Fitch Solutions as Managing Director for Leveraged Finance Intelligence, where she was responsible for developing their leveraged finance offerings; and with Leveraged Commentary & Data, where she managed leveraged finance content and operations globally for more than 15 years.
Ruth received an A.B. with honors from Harvard University.

Nicolas Godec is a product manager for financial services at S&P Dow Jones Indices, focusing on tradable indices within the credit markets.
Nicolas is an Index Product Manager covering tradable indices, including OTC and Exchange Listed Derivatives and the development of indices for Exchange Traded Funds. In addition to serving as a product expert for the various indices and their tradable equivalents, he chairs the committee for and manages the launch of new North American CDS index series, including the Markit CDX High Yield and Investment Grade, CDX Emerging Markets, CMBX and MCDX indices. Prior to joining S&P Global, he was a research analyst on the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Bond Indices team that is now a part of the Intercontinental Exchange.
Nicolas is a CFA charterholder and holds a Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM). In 2019, he completed his MBA from Columbia Business School's Executive MBA program, graduating with Dean's Honors.

Chris Sparenberg is head of business for iLEVEL, our portfolio monitoring solution which is used by more than 700 asset managers and allocators. He is responsible for the growth and strategic direction of the business.
During his time with Market Intelligence, Chris has contributed to the development and execution of the firm’s private markets strategy, including responsibility for go-to-market, sales enablement, product strategy, strategic client development, and synergies.
Before Market Intelligence, Chris spent 5 years at Cambridge Associates in portfolio monitoring and quantitative due diligence, where he was also responsible for the production and distribution of Cambridge’s Private Investments benchmarks. Chris also held roles in Product and Data Strategy at eVestment/Nasdaq and Juniper Square.

Laura joined the Private Valuation Services team at S&P Global in 2015. Over the last 9 years, Laura has been instrumental to S&P Global's drive to create new product offerings, especially around valuation practice, due to the changing regulatory landscape.
Laura has over 15 years of extensive training and hands-on expertise in valuing illiquid and complex securities across capital structures, industries, and geographies. She advises senior fund management in establishing best-in-class valuation policies and procedures.
Before joining S&P Global, Laura spent 4 years at Esposito Private Equity Group, where she was responsible for all aspects of strategy, sourcing, due diligence, and monitoring. Earlier in her career, Laura was a buy-side analyst at Beal Bank, the largest privately owned bank in the state of Texas, where she focused on valuing distressed debt instruments during the global credit crisis.
Laura is a frequent speaker in industry conferences and has authored several publications. A cum laude graduate of Principal College in Elsah, IL, Laura has held the Series 7, 24, 66, and 79 securities registrations.
